Vision

Our vision represents our dreams of the kind of church we want to be, taking what God has called all followers of Jesus to aim for and applying it to our church now - these people, in this place, at this time. Our vision is to be a church where people find hope and home. The world is frequently a hopeless, lonely place. We believe God has us here to push back against that - sharing the eternal hope we have because of Jesus and the home he has given us with each other.

Mission

Our mission is to pursue Jesus wholeheartedly; to love people transformationally. We are striving to be a church that puts following Jesus at the center of every part of our lives. And we want to love people not just in word or feeling but in ways that could change their lives for the better (just like Jesus did for us). We want the ideals of "wholehearted pursuit" and "transforming love" to refine our church.

Our values help us live out our mission as we move toward our vision together. At SCC we value:

Biblical Authority
God's Word tells us what we need to know to live according to His will. We strive to understand it, apply it to our lives, and help others do so too.

God's Spirit gives us direct access to Him. We seek the Spirit to empower our devotion to God in all things and our engagement with one another.
